Den här dagen spenderades med att designa ett lite halvslarvigt omslag till den relativt okända romanen "Beyond Apollo" av den minst lika okända Barry N Malzberg, vars namn borde nämnas - åtminstone i förbifarten - när man talar om författare som J G Ballard, William S Burroughs och Philip K Dick. Bilden jag fick till är jag nöjd med, men kan dock inte mäta sig med vissa av de andra omslag boken tidigare burit:
"Beyond Apollo" vann ett par priser när den kom, men tycks nu för tiden nästan helt bortglömd, och andra böcker av författaren är svåra att få tag på. Jag hoppas att någon som ser bilden blir sugen på att läsa boken som inspirerat den, så att den inte faller helt i glömska.
Kort synopsis från "Beyond Apollo":
"Two astronauts depart on a Venus expedition, upon their return, one astronaut is missing and the survivor, Harry M. Evans, is assessed as mad and immediately institutionalized. Evans is unable to explain what happened on the mission; he is encouraged by the supervising psychiatrist to put his thoughts into a journal and it is the journal of that expedition and its several conflicting "explanations" of the outcome of the voyage, which comprise the text of the novel."
